Are You Ready for Eternity?
If you were to die today, do you know where you would go? Would you spend eternity in heaven with God, or be subject to perpetual hell? In our busy world it is easy not to think about this question. We often only live in the here and now. But, we all have an appointed time in which we will die, and each day brings this moment closer.

Where will you go? Where will your family members go? All of us are sinners and in need of a Savior (Romans 3:23). You need a Savior, and I need one too. God’s Word tells us the only way we can enter into heaven is through His Son Jesus Christ (Romans 6:23). Our sin creates a debt none of us will ever be able to pay. He paid the debt once and for all, we need only believe.
Do you believe in Jesus? Do you believe He is God’s Son and the only way into heaven? Please don’t mistake believing in Jesus as simply knowing of Him. Even Satan knows of Jesus. They’ve met on numerous occasions.

Knowing of Jesus and believing in Him are two different things. To believe means to put your faith and trust in Him, to follow Him in all your ways, and obey His commands. It is reading His Word and allowing it to sink into our hearts so that we will become more like Him. It involves loving Him more than you love yourself and offering your life as a living sacrifice to Him and His Father’s will.
I firmly believe that if you cannot name a specific date in which you have accepted Christ, there is a good chance you are not saved. Why take the chance? Accept Jesus as your Savior today. Invite Him into your heart, and write this date in a special place, such as in this book or the front of your Bible.

Salvation is permanent and eternal (John 10:27, Ephesians 4:30, 2 Corinthians 1:22). It can never be taken away from you. God is faithful to hear your prayer and seal you as one of His own right now. All you need is to sincerely pray a prayer similar to this:

Dear Jesus,
I know I am a sinner. I believe you died on the cross and paid the penalty for my sins. I believe you rose from the dead after three days in the grave and I repent from my sins. I place my faith and trust in you and you alone. Thank you for giving me eternal life!

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
